Success Mentality 9
Success is fulfilling God’s will and destiny for your life.
God’s will is that we become fruitful and productive in life.
Productivity is the foundation of true success and all prosperity.
Jesus taught the parable of the talents which we could also call….The Parable of Productivity.
Matthew 25:14-30
In verse 29 Jesus said “unto every one that hath shall be given and he shall have abundance”.
Has what? Productivity!
2 men traded (did business, invested, put the capital they were given to work) and produced 100% profit margins.
They were called good and faithful.
1 man threw the money in a hole, maintaining his allotted funds and returned the same amount to his master.
He was called wicked, lazy and unprofitable.
(Unprofitable also translated…worthless, useless, good for nothing and [Message] “a play it safe who won’t go out on a limb”.)
The Unprofitable Servant was an Unproductive Servant
Notice that the Master didn’t consider maintenance to be faithfulness.
(The old saying “God didn’t call us to be successful, just to be faithful” is a lie)
Jesus calls fruitfulness “faithfulness”.
True faithfulness brings productivity
Some people never produce anything much… yet wonder why they’re never blessed with abundance!
It’s because in the mind of God…they’re lazy, wicked and unproductive.
Some will say they’re not lazy because they go to work.
The unprofitable servant went to work. He dug a hole.
He may have even worked harder than the faithful servants (trying to avoid work)…but he was lazy in his master’s eyes because he unproductive.
Eight Lessons from the Parable of Productivity
God will reward those who are productive.
Additional resources, promotion, joy, abundance.
Faithful people focus on what they’ve been given and what they’re going to do with it.
Unfaithful people focus on their lack of opportunity and blame others for it.
Unproductive people lose.
The unprofitable servant lost his job, opportunity, potential, benefits, joy, future.
(He was separated from his source, sad (weeping) and suffered (gnashing of teeth).
Productive people gain.
They’re blessed with more resources, funds, talents, opportunities.
He was commended for being good and faithful, happy, given additional opportunity and abundance!
God’s will is productivity and abundance.
Some people gain what others lose.
God doesn’t steal it. It’s his. He simply reassigns it.
God can reassign money, people, ideas, church members,
friends, jobs, ministry assignments.
God allows no excuses for lack of productivity.
God assigns no limits to your potential.
