Matthew 21:12-16
God’s House is to be a House of…Purity, Prayer Power and Praise!
God’s People are to be people of Purity, Prayer, Power and Praise!
Last week, we discovered that…
Praise strengthens us.
Praise stills the enemy.
Isaiah 61:1-3, 10
Jesus the Messiah came to change us and to change our destitute human condition! (Verse 1-3)
He came to give us new clothes, the garments of salvation to replaced the old coverings of sin and hopelessness.
He gave us a garment of praise to replace the spirit of heaviness.
NIV
“a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair”
AMP
“the garment [expressive] of praise instead of a heavy, burdened, and failing spirit”
(Have you been feeling despair and discouragement, heavy and burdened? Put your praise on!)
This new garment causes people to call us “trees of righteousness” and “the planting of the Lord”.
It causes people to take note of our lives and recognize the work of the Lord in us!
Praise is the garment of a believer.
God gave it to you…So…Put it on! Wear it? Show it off!
We wear it…that He might be glorified!
Psalm 50:23
Praise glorifies God.
(To glorify God is to show him honor!)
God’s people are repeatedly encouraged by the Scriptures to praise God!
