The Message

Passage: Acts 10:34-44
We Christians have become so accustomed, so used to, so familiar with our message…that too many of us it has become old hat, blaz’e, commonplace, ordinary and so everyday,
As a result it becomes unremarkable to us, unappreciated by us and therefore uncommunicated through us.
The world then understandably esteems it to be unbelievable and un-receivable and as a result un-initiated by them.
In actuality, The Message of Jesus is uncommon, unusual, unrivaled, unequalled and unmatched by any other message, teaching, philosophy or belief system known to man.
The message of Jesus is unsurpassed in power and blessing!
I would like to re-introduce you to…
The Message
Acts 10:34-44
The Holy Spirit falls on people when they hear The Message!
Peter, sharing The Message with his first Non-Jewish audience knew that he was to do certain and specific things with it!
V 34 Perceive it. (understand, comprehend)
We must come to understand the Message.
Whether we are presenting the message ourselves, or
inviting people to come hear the message at Church, we
need to understand it. This will give us the passion we
need to impart it to others!
V 36 Preach it. (to announce good news)
The Message is not negative, doom and gloom, not a
threat or a curse.
It is a blessing, an opportunity, an open door, an escape
from the judgment we all actually deserve.
We are to announce the Good News of The Message.
V 37 Publish it. (to publicize, to appear in history, to come
upon the stage.)
The Message is a breaking story…A News Flash!
The Message has risen in human history like the Sun and
is still as fresh and new as this mornings Sunrise!
The Message shines with all of God’s glory and power
giving all who see it New Hope, New Faith, New Life!
V42 Proclaim It. ([Preach} To herald, to formally and officially
proclaim)
Today, I am formally and officially proclaiming to you…The Message!
It is the most thoroughly exciting, life transforming, miracle working, eternity changing, News Story the world has ever heard…
The Message of Jesus, The Son of God!

Jesus Came to Show us God!
(Last week, Pastor Mike outlined several distorted images of God in people’s thinking. To get an clear view…just look at Jesus!)
Jesus said, “If you’ve seen me you’ve seen the father”
V 38
He did good. (to bestow benefits, to benefit financially, to do the work of a philanthropist)
He healed.
He set people free from Satan.
He loved, lifted, encouraged, inspired, forgave and empowered people
He also became angry, grieved, sad at times.
(He’s the real and authentic Jesus, not plastic, fictional, politically correct…and the real God)
He showed us what God is really like!
God is exactly like Jesus Christ!

Jesus Came to Connect us with God!
(V 39-40)
They slew him and hung him on a tree!

God raised him from the dead on the 3rd day.
(He’s alive and saves, rescues, mediates for us and connects us with God.)
We can not live a life that is connected with God, every moment of every day!
Jesus is the only Son of God, the only one who showed us God and the only one who can connect us with God!

Jesus is Lord of All!
(V 36)
Jesus, the Son of God is God in the flesh, virgin born, never sinned, died, rose again, glorified, ascended, exalted, seated at the right hand of God!
He has all Authority and Power.
He is the Judge of All…Living and Dead. (whether they want to accept it or not!)
The Message is all about Him!
V 42-43
He, Him, His Name
Who is He?
(The Same Jesus that went about doing good, healing, liberating, loving, lifting….)

Jesus will never be, act, or speak any other way than the way you see him being, acting or speaking in the bible!
He’s always totally himself!
That’s God! Always totally himself!
You can trust Him to be Him!
