The HEART of the Bible

The Prophet Isaiah prophesied of Jesus' suffering and death on the cross for all mankind, 750 years before Jesus was born. He prophetically outlined the most complete explanation of Jesus' suffering and death...what it accomplished...and what we are remembering and celebrating when we observe communion.

Isaiah 52:13 – 53:12

Jesus suffering and death purchased our redemptive blessings.

Verse 3:  sorrow = pain, anguish, affliction, grief/sickness

Verse 4:  borne = to lift, griefs = sicknesses, carried = carried away, sorrows = pains, anguish

Verse 5:  wounded = pierced, transgressions = committed sins, law breaking acts, iniquities = perversities, inward bend toward sin, chastisement = correction, peace = peace, prosperity, safety from enemies, healed = healed, mended, knit together, made whole

Redemptive Blessings Purchased by Jesus at the Cross

  1.  Forgiveness of sin
  2. Deliverance from iniquity

  3. Peace

  4. Prosperity

  5. Safety from enemies

  6. Healing

  7. Long life
