I AM Saved (Part 3)

John 3:16-17

It is true that salvation has three tenses or aspects.
God is working in our life, saving us progressively.
God will save us completely at the resurrection.
But it's also true that we can say “I AM SAVED”.

“Save” (Gr. sodzo) = to save, to keep safe and sound, to rescue from danger or destruction.

It is used 94 times in the New Testament of salvation from...sin, danger, spiritual conflict, sickness, hell, slavery.

 People being saved was the major concern, theme and message of the 1st Century church in Jerusalem.

Acts 2:21

...whoseover shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Acts 4:12 NIV

Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.

Acts 2:47 NIV

And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.

Luke records that people were being saved. He describes their Christian experience as a literal rescue of their lives and souls.

1 Corinthians 1:18

For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.

Ephesians 2:5 NKJV

Even when we were dead in trespasses, [God] made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved),

Ephesians 2:8 NKJV

For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God.

Notice here that being saved is a gift from God that we have now...not a reward for our performance, determined sometime in the future!

2 Timothy 1:8-9 NKJV

Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord...who has saved us and called us with a holy calling...

Titus 3:5

Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit.

So... I'm not going to be saved.
I'm not expecting to be saved.
I'm not trying to be saved.
I AM SAVED!

“Saved” is WHO I AM, WHAT I AM, and HOW I AM! 

John 1:11-12

He came unto his own, and his own received him not. But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name.

1 John 5:11-13 NKJV

...God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. These things have I written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God; that you may know that you have eternal life...

I have received Jesus. I have life. I AM SAVED!
