Dare to Dream 2
Acts 2:17 KJV
And it shall come to pass in the last days saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:
Jeremiah 23:28 KJV
The prophet that hath a dream, let him tell a dream; and he that hath my word, let him speak my word faithfully.
Proverbs 13:12 TLB
…when dreams come true…there is life and joy.
Proverbs 13:19 NLT
It is pleasant to see dreams come true, but fools refuse to turn from evil to attain them.
Psalm 14:6 Message
Do you think you can mess with the dreams of the poor? You can’t, for God makes their dreams come true.
God makes dreams come true!
Dare to Dream!
Let’s recover our ability to dream and achieve our dreams!
Today, my subject is Define the Dream
God wants to put a great dream in your heart!
(Ps. 37:4 Delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desires[(dreams] of your heart.)
Maybe he already has!
You need to… Discover Your Dream.
Look down into your heart of hearts and discover your dream.
I dare you to discover your God given dream.
You need to… Qualify Your Dream.
It’s possible to have false dreams, maybe even wicked and sinful dreams…Dreams that are actually deceptions and delusions…Dreams that are not from God.
Some people are false prophets… who dream false dreams.
Some people are Daydreamers…with no intention of actually doing anything to make their dreams come true.
Others are Pipedreamers…their dreams are pure fantasy
They’re not really believable!
Look into God’s Word and qualify your dream.
Is it a God dream…or something else?
You need to…Define Your Dream.
Just as people mature physically and mentally with age, Believers mature spiritually with age and Christian experience.
As we mature in Christ, our spiritual fruit matures, our faith matures, and our dreams mature too!
Our dreams should become more defined as they become more mature.
What do you dream for your life?
What do you dream for your career?
What do you dream for your family?
What do you dream for your marriage?
What do you dream for your ministry assignment?
Mark 11:23-24 KJV
You can only move a specific mountain.
You can only believe you receive a specific answer.
Only after you define your dream with specificity…can you believe your dream with authenticity!
Once you have defined your God dream…and can articulate it with clarity and confidence…it will begin to work and empower your life!
A specifically defined God given dream will…
1. Activate your faith.
Abraham (to birth a nation)
Gideon (to liberate Israel from the Midianites)
Nehemiah (to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem)
David (to build God a Temple)
Paul (to reach Macedonia with the gospel)
2. Access the Holy Spirit’s power.
The Holy Spirit doesn’t empower us to do nothing… but to work
and achieve a dream or vision from God.
3. Adjust your thinking.
A big dream creates big thoughts and big ideas.
A big God given dream will change your plans and adjust your
priorities
(Prov. 23:7 As a man thinks in his heart so is he)
4. Awaken you to action.
All positive action begins with a positive hope, vision or dream.
We’re living life.
We’re on this planet.
Now, what are we going to do?
I dare you to dream…
I dare you to let your dream activate your faith, access God’s power, adjust your thinking and awaken you to action.
Or as this song says…I dare you to move!
What is your dream? Define it.
What is your next step toward seeing it come true? Take it.
I Dare you to move.
Move toward your dream, your destiny and your greatest purpose in life.
